Rise of Temujin is a video game based on Genghis Khan life. I created this concept project in college as part of a UI design assignment.
This box art was created to be cluttered on purpose as part of a class exercise.
This is the title screen for the game.On this title screen I added the mouse and gave a highlight effect to what the mouse is over.
This is the tactical world map. It is on a hex grid. When you select a unit it will highlight it and show you a small info box on the unit. While a unit is selected it will highlight the hex you wish to move it to on mouse over and show a navigation path.
This is the turn based battle screen. Player's unit is on the left and the enemy is on the right. Unit information and skills are located at the bottom. Morale is the unit's health.
I decided to redesign the UI. The attack, defend, and skill buttons were taking up a lot of space so I decided to change them into icons. The icons are attack melee, ranged attack, defend, skill (name pending).
I decided to lighten the blue I used in the UI to make it pop more. I also reorganized things a little in a effort compact information and better utilize base.
At the bottom of the screen you can mouseover and select a unit's skill. On mouse over a info box will popup with information on the skill.
This is the pause screen.
I changed the highlight color to pop more.
This is what players will see when they inspect a unit. the unit inspect screen will mention the unit's name, stats, skills, and backstory/lore on the unit.
